The Division’s latest paid DLC pack launches today, Survival, which strips players of their gear and throws them into a lengthy activity that requires them to scrap for supplies to survive. But some players are logging in today and are unable to access the activity at all, myself included, when I first tried.
I’m not sure whether this is an Ubisoft thing or an Xbox One thing, but it’s bizarre and irritating all the same. Simply put, you can own the DLC and yet there’s no way to actually start it.
First things first, so far as I can tell, there’s no indicator pointing you in the direction of where you even start Survival, at least not in my game. You find the Survival Hub in the Terminal, the area between the Base of Operations and the Underground. It should be to your right as you enter from the BOO, and you should see a doorway that gives you matchmaking options for the activity.
However, if you’re like me, your doorway just has a big “OFFLINE” indicator with “DLC Coming Soon” next to it, even if the DLC is already here. From here, there are a few different steps you can take to try to resolve this, so follow along with me here:
1) If you’re a Season Pass owner, even if you downloaded the 8 GB 1.5 patch, you still have to manually install the DLC before it will work. You do this by being in The Division, hitting the Xbox home button to zoom out, pressing start over the game window and going to “Manage Game.” From there, you should be able to navigate to a “Ready to Install” section where you can install Survival manually. You can also install it manually from the store.
