Daedalic entertainment, the German studio best known for their commitment to the kind of adventure point-and-click, released a cinematic trailer for Silence: The Whispered World 2.
A summary of light from the game’s website reads:
“With completely new 3D visuals, the game takes players back to silence, a world of dreams. We support Noah, a teenager who lost his little sister Renie in the dangerous real world and now hopes to find her in silence “.
The trailer contains a good amount of typical fantasy indices: shards scattered, breaking a silence, a magic mirror to do something magicky, a boy chased by some creepy woods by a ghostly entity. Everything looks nice, and while a snapshot button, the trailer maintains distinct style shades of Daedalic.
Although I have not played The Whispered World, I am intrigued by the change in tone of the first part. The trailer of the original game was much lighter impact, particularly pronounced in the hand drawn animated art direction. One can only hope the sequel does not lose the charm in its transition to 3D. Silence: The Whispered World 2 should arrive sometime in 2016.
